Projects > Product Design > Hospital Information System Redesign

The target of the project was to improve the overall usability and user experience of the existing hospital information system* provided at Turkey’s City Hospitals— a large network of healthcare facilities built by the private sector and operated by the government.

The current HIS experience at City Hospitals was chaotic and outdated; the platform was challenging to use and learn, and slow due to technical infrastructure.

As the project team, we directed our focus on two user groups: hospital admissions clerks and doctors. For these users, we wanted to boost efficiency and productivity by creating a familiar and assistive interface, with the most accurate and high-quality experience design.

The vision for this redesign project to meet the current healthcare sector expectations by providing data insights, personalized assistance and offering a flexible design system based on the custom needs of every specialty, doctor, and clerk.

Our designs served as the foundation of the new system that will be implemented at City Hospitals (9 facilities and counting) all around Turkey. Our concept will also help the client enter the foreign markets with this hospital information system in the future.

I actively took part in the discovery phase of the project by going on field researches and interviews as well as guerrilla testing with our users. Besides these, me and my team conducted a co-creation workshop to better understand our users’ needs: doctors.
